What is JiwuChat? 🤯

JiwuChat is a lightweight (~10MB) cross-platform chat app built with Tauri 2 and Nuxt 3. It offers real-time messaging, AI group-chat bots (iFlytek Spark, Kimi AI and more are connected), WebRTC voice and video calls, screen sharing, and AI shopping. It works seamlessly across devices, covers text, images, files and voice messages, supports group chats and customizable settings, and comes with light and dark modes. ✨

How to get started 🤔

📦 Install dependencies

# Node.js >= 18
npm install -g pnpm

pnpm install

✨ Develop

• 📌 If you don't have a backend service, edit the .env.development variables or use the .env.production file.

# Terminal 1: start Nuxt (production environment)
pnpm run prod:nuxt
# Terminal 2: start Tauri
pnpm run dev:tauri

• If you do have a backend service, customize the .env.development file for development.

# Run them separately
# Terminal 1: start Nuxt
pnpm run dev:nuxt
# Terminal 2: start Tauri
pnpm run dev:tauri

🖥️ Build

1. Build the Nuxt assets

pnpm run build:nuxt

2. Build the Tauri desktop app (it builds for the current system, e.g. Windows -> xxx.setup/xxx.msi)

pnpm run build:tauri

❌ pnpm install error

Show the current registry

pnpm get registry

Change it temporarily

pnpm --registry https://registry.npm.taobao.org install any-touch

Change it permanently

pnpm config set registry https://registry.npm.taobao.org

Restore the default

pnpm config set registry https://registry.npmjs.org
